Apollinaire and the Mediterranean. To commemorate the centennial of Alcools

Call for Papers

The universities of Aix-Marseille and Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle are hosting an international conference Apollinaire and the Mediterranean: In celebration of the centennial of Alcools at the University of Aix-Marseille, April 11-13, 2013.

On the occasion of its centennial, Apollinaire’s celebrated poem will be registered among the National Celebrations for 2013. In this same year, the city of Marseille will be named European Capital of Culture.

The conference will focus on three themes:

The presence of the Mediterranean in Alcools
The Mediterranean in Apollinaire’s other works
The influence of Alcools and Apollinaire in the Mediterranean world

We welcome all critical methods that incorporate one of these themes. New perspectives and documents are particularly welcome. Presentations should not exceed 25 minutes.

Half-page proposals along with brief bio-bibliographies specifying the author’s affiliation should be sent to Claude Debon and / or Claude Perez before 15 November 2012, for cosideration by the planning committee: Stéphane Baquey, Jean Burgos, Claude Debon, Daniel Delbreil, Étienne-Alain Hubert, Claude Perez.
